The Cleveland Plain Dealer recently spoke with Jim Margolis ’93, a former executive producer for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, about his new position on the new fake comedy news magazine series, Newrseaders, on Adult Swim.
“Six-time Emmy award winning Jim Margolis from Shaker Heights recently left his staff position as an executive producer for ‘The Daily Show’ in New York to become the show runner for the new Adult Swim sketch comedy show ‘Newsreaders.’ He’s now living in Los Angeles. Another former Shaker Heights resident, David Wain, also is an executive producer on the show. ‘Newsreaders’ began airing at midnight Thursday on Adult Swim, which is part of the Cartoon Network. …
“Was it a hard decision to leave ‘The Daily Show?’
It was a very difficult decision, but it was a great opportunity to create something completely new and collaborate with people I really like and respect. It was also a great opportunity to have no job security. I think what you're really asking is what was I thinking? A lot of people have asked that question.”
