[Field Yates ’09]Football connoisseur Field Yates ’09 reviews the New England Patriots’ 2011 season and previews their 2012 season in his blog, Thoughts from the Field.

“Despite a historically-poor pass defense, the New England Patriots almost made history by capturing another Super Bowl victory, but came up short against the New York Giant (again).

“We know the Patriots were close a season ago, so there isn’t much needed to shape this roster to be a contender again in 2012. Fortunately for New England fans, the Patriots are stocked in the draft pick department, having four of the top 63 picks. Look for Belichick to be active with draft day trades (as usual), and don’t be shocked to see him load up on defensive front seven players early.”
